Final Reflection Post

My Final Thoughts!

I enjoyed this class probably better that I have ever enjoyed learning. This class I started out excited and throughout the class the excitement continued; mainly because it combined my two passions (Teaching Kids with Technology). I knew there was a lot of programs out there before the class, but as the class went on I realized that I didn't know as much as I thought. I know I had some struggles, but I really did earn something new every week. I am a “Google Girl” and use Google for a lot of things, but did not realize how far Google has come. I am happy that Google is so advanced and is trying to keep up with the demands of today’s growing society. I discovered so much with Google, and a lot of other technical devices, websites, apps, etc. Learning about Rubrics and websites to make them and keep track of students learning and progress.  What I gained in this class, the knowledge and relationships I know has impacted my life. Not only did I enjoy learning all these necessary websites, but I loved the relationship that Mrs. Coleman created between us students; or it might have been just the fact that we was a class of girls only! Either way learning with a group like this definitely gives me hope for the future of education and teachers, unfortunately not every teacher across America is going to be able to have Mrs. Coleman as a teacher, so maybe I’ll just set my standards for future teachers of Southwest Florida.

Blog L Chapter #12

Made by Wordle

For this being our last blog I just want to say that I have learned so much in this class. This last blog is about how Integrating Technology and Creating Change as Teacher Leaders can increase the success of students.

Some wonderful concepts of teachers and technology are:

Concept 1: Teaching other fellow teachers about the new technology so that you can make sure all teachers are up to date and can provide the best success for the students.

Concept 2: Though not everything has to be accessed with a technical device, it is best to ensure student success that everything can be accessed with a technical device. -0- Example is that instructions for a school project can be found on a sent home piece of paper, but also accessed on a website to engage the students in the project.

My Reflection: Some parents still might not understand how to access all these technical ways to engage their child’s school, so that will have to be presented like a typed letter; in fact some parents might not even have an email. In this world today we are so diverse that I am sure that I will come across a student with a family just like this and I will be prepared.

Concept 3:  Using technology the right way. Just giving a student the technical device might not work as-well as you think; in this globalization world today. If a student does come from a technical family than that student might be a bit more challenging when teaching something with technology as their fellow classmates. That is where you will come in and teach the students about their new technical device. Also you should make sure that the technical device that you have chosen to use contains a lot of knowledge in the subject that you are trying to teacher, so that is can be redeemed as a success.Using these blogs will help us a lot in our future teaching careers, and the success of our students.

Blog K Chapter #6

With this Chapter I made a Zoo book featuring Charlie the Giraffe. He and his friends needed help on there day of adventure to escape the zoo and come back. They ran into a lot of math problems that you had to solve to see what was the next adventure was.

I used Zooburst to create this story to help my first grade students learn math.
I think this is a cute tool to "Foster online learning with Educational Websites"
There are websites and apps for all grades.
Some other websites are: WebQuest, Platoni, and Scholastic.
1.     WebQuest is a websites that gives kids task, and tells them the process and tells them what there outcome could be. It can be used any grade from Elementary all the way to High School.

2.     Platoni and Scholastic allows students to go on a virtual field trip. In my class book it says students that go to school in New York went on a virtual field trip to Ellis Island.

3.     Another way to engage students to learn is by Skype Videoconferencing. I think that using this app is good for students to get together without it interfering too much with their schedules. It also could come in hand to talk with relatives that might live in a different state and the kid might have a chance to learn about that area from their relatives.

I know when I become a teacher I will be using all of this technology to Foster my students learning.
I remember when I took a few high school online classes from Florida-virtual School, and I also received my AA degree through University of Phoenix online. The class I excelled in had virtual labs and  a lot of visual things. I know I am a creative visual learner so when I was able to implement those things into my learning I did very well. I will make sure to do the same with my students !
